Soul behind Samved Living

Samved Living began with something I could not ignore.

I grew up in India, surrounded by craft, colour, and a way of living that treated materials with care. But as I grew up, I also saw many of these practices slowly fading, replaced by speed, convenience, and mass production.

My journey through engineering, urban planning, and years of working in sustainability, waste recovery, and circular economy gave language to what I had always felt. Some of the most shaping parts of that journey came from working closely within waste systems in India, including alongside waste pickers whose livelihoods depend on what others discard. That experience stayed with me deeply. It taught me that waste is never just waste — it carries value, dignity, labour, and human stories that are often unseen.

Living in Australia made another gap impossible to miss. We fill our homes with beautiful products, yet so often we do not know who made them, where they came from, what they are made of, or what impact they carry. The connection between maker, material, and home can feel lost.

Samved Living was born from a desire to close that gap and bring others to the sustainability and conscious living journey.

It is my way of bringing cultural wisdom from India into modern Australian homes — with greater transparency, deeper care, and more mindful choices. It is a space where craft is honoured, materials are respected, and slow, thoughtful living is made to feel beautiful and accessible. Through Samved, I hope to support artisan communities, revive traditional artforms, extend the life of resources, and create pieces that carry meaning in every detail.

For me, Samved is rooted in empathy — empathy for the hands that make, for the materials we use, and for the planet we share. This is not just about sustainability as a concept. It is about sustainability as a way of feeling, choosing, and living more consciously.

This work is deeply personal to me. Samved Living is not simply a business; it is an attempt to build something honest, intentional, and human. We are still growing, learning, and shaping this journey with care.

Thank you for being here, and for choosing to be part of it.
When you support Samved Living, you support craft, conscious living, and the stories worth keeping alive.

Spine Behind Samved Living

Founder’s Note

For a long time, I believed strength looked like concrete, steel, and the structures we leave behind.

As a civil engineer, I spent years working in industries built on scale, function, and permanence — from India to Melbourne. I was drawn to the idea of building things that last. But somewhere along the way, I began to notice another side of the world we have created: the waste, the excess, the temporary nature of so much around us. So many things today are made to be used quickly, discarded easily, and forgotten almost instantly.

That never sat right with me.

It made me reflect on what real strength actually means. I came to believe that the strongest foundations are not only physical — they are built through values, intention, and the choices we make every day.

That thinking is what led me to Samved Living.

I wanted to help build something that felt more human. Something with soul. Something that could take what the world often dismisses as waste and see it differently — as resource, as story, as possibility. Whether it is reclaimed textiles or hand-touched materials, I see beauty in giving things a second life and purpose in creating products that carry meaning.

To me, Samved Living is about more than what we make. It is about how we choose to live. It is about slowing down, respecting materials, valuing craftsmanship, and bringing intention back into the objects that fill our homes and daily routines.

I bring an engineer’s eye to this journey — a respect for quality, structure, and longevity — but Samved has taught me that true design must also hold emotion. The things we live with should not only serve a function; they should make us feel connected: to the maker, to the material, and to a more mindful way of living.

This is my way of helping rebuild what matters.

Not through bigger systems alone, but through everyday choices that are more conscious, more grounded, and more caring.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
