What is Samved Living?

What makes Samved Living different?

We focus on products that are handmade, small-batch and rooted in craft. We bring the transparency to you with how products are made, who makes them, what materials are used, and the story they carry into your home.

 

Are your products handmade?

Most of our products are handmade or artisan-made in small batches. However the materials we use for reuse and recycling cannot be guaranteed to be hand-made. We do not have control over the end of life materials we receive, because of this, slight variations in colour, texture, print, shape or finish are natural and part of their beauty.

 

Where are your products made?

Our products are made in partnership with small makers and artisan-led studios, with strong roots in Indian craft traditions and thoughtful making practices.

 

Are your products mass-produced?

No. We prioritise handmade, artisan-led and small-batch production over mass manufacturing.

 

Are your products sustainable?

We try to make every product as thoughtful as possible. This includes working with reclaimed, post-industrial and post-consumer materials where we can, supporting handmade and small-batch production, and reducing unnecessary waste. Where new materials are needed, we try to prioritise natural fibres wherever possible. We are also building stronger documentation, traceability and certification pathways as Samved Living grows.

 

Do you have sustainability certifications?

At this stage, not all of our products carry formal sustainability certifications. We are still in the early stages of building these systems. What matters deeply to us is transparency — we are actively documenting our materials, processes and maker details, and aim to share as much information as we can.

As we grow, we are working towards stronger certification and traceability pathways. This is an important focus for us, and something we are committed to building thoughtfully over time.

 

Can you provide details about your materials and processes?

Yes. We believe in being as transparent as possible. Wherever we can, we document material origins, making processes and product journeys, and we are happy to share those details with customers.

 

What do you mean by upcycled, recycled and natural fabrics?

These words describe different material journeys:

Upcycled means using an existing material or waste material and turning it into a new product without fully breaking it down.

Recycled means a material has been processed and remade into a usable material again.

Natural materials that come from natural sources such as cotton, linen, jute, wool or silk, mud and clay.

At Samved Living, we work with a mix of reclaimed, upcycled and thoughtfully sourced materials depending on the product.

 

What do post-industrial and post-consumer materials mean?

Post-industrial materials are leftovers, offcuts or surplus created during manufacturing.

Post-consumer materials are materials that have already been used and then recovered to be given a new life.

 

Will my product look exactly like the photo?

Not always. Since many of our products are handmade or made from reclaimed, post-industrial or post-consumer materials, slight differences in colour, print, texture or detailing may occur. These variations are part of the uniqueness of each piece. While the visual details may vary, we make sure the utility, quality and design intention remain consistent.

 

Will the same product always be available in exactly the same colour or design?

Not always. Because we work with reclaimed and rescued materials, the exact fabric, colour, print or texture used in one batch may not always be available again in the same form. While the visual details may vary, we make sure the utility, quality and design intention remain consistent.

 

Does that mean quality is compromised?

No. Uniqueness does not mean compromise. We do not compromise on the purpose, function or overall quality of the product. Each piece may look slightly different, but it is made to maintain the same usability and care in finish.

 

How do I care for my Samved Living products?

Care instructions may vary depending on the material and product. We recommend following the care notes shared on the product page or packaging. If you need more information, please feel free to write to us.

 

How should I care for handmade textiles?

Gentle care is best. In most cases, mild hand wash or a delicate cold wash is recommended. Avoid harsh detergents, bleach and high heat unless stated otherwise.

 

How should I care for clay or pottery products?

Handle with care. Because handmade clay products may vary slightly in finish and form, we recommend gentle use and cleaning with damp cloth.

 

Do you keep all products in stock?

Some pieces may be ready to ship, while others may be made in small batches or limited runs. Availability may vary depending on the product and material.

 

How long will my order take to ship?

Orders are typically processed within 2-4 weeks. Delivery times may vary depending on your location and whether the item is ready to ship or part of a small-batch release.

 

Do you offer Australia-wide shipping?

Yes, we plan to ship across Australia. Shipping rates and delivery timelines will be shown at checkout.

 

Do you offer international shipping?

We currently ship within Australia and also international shipping to selected countries.

 

How can I track my order?

Do you accept returns?

We accept returns on eligible items within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in original condition.

 

Can I return an item because it looks slightly different from the photo?

Small variations in handmade, reclaimed or upcycled pieces are expected and are part of their character. These are not considered faults.

 

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order, along with your order number and photos of the item and packaging, and we will do our best to help.

 

Do you offer gift packaging?

Our packaging is designed to already feel thoughtful, simple and special.
