At Samved Living, many of our pieces are made in small batches using reclaimed textiles, natural fabrics, clay, and hand-finished processes. That means they are designed for real life, but they also deserve thoughtful care.

Because many items are crafted from reclaimed, upcycled, or natural materials, gentle variations in colour, texture, stitching, and finish are part of their character. These are not faults, but part of what makes each piece unique.

General Care

To help your Samved piece age beautifully:

• Store in a dry place

• Wipe gently with a damp cloth for regular upkeep

• Clean spills and stains as soon as possible

• Use cold water and mild soap for washable textile items

• Air dry fully before storing or reusing

• Line dry where possible

• Light ironing can help refresh some textile pieces after washing

Most textiles do best with cold, gentle washing and line drying. For best results, always check the care notes on the individual product page as well.

Care by Product Type

Bags, pouches and textile accessories

This includes bum bags, tote bags, wallets, grocery pouches, produce bags, bucket hats, wraps, and similar reclaimed-fabric pieces.

• Store dry between uses

• Wipe with a damp cloth for everyday maintenance

• Spot clean spills immediately

• Gentle hand wash in cold water with mild soap is recommended

• Avoid machine washing where possible

• If machine washing is necessary, use a wash bag and protect metal fittings where relevant

• If the item gets wet, let it air dry completely before using it again, especially before carrying papers, tech, or valuables

• A light iron can help restore shape and freshness after cleaning

Home textiles

This includes cushion covers, table runners, and the dohar.

• Store in a dry place

• Wipe gently for regular maintenance where suitable

• Clean spills promptly

• Gentle hand wash in cold water with mild soap

• Line dry or air dry thoroughly

• Light ironing may be used to refresh the fabric after washing

Clay, pottery and ritual pieces

This includes clay coasters, black pottery desk tiles, Buddha pieces, and incense holders.

• Store in a dry place

• Wipe clean with a damp cloth

• Clean spills immediately

• Keep dry between uses and avoid prolonged moisture exposure

A Note on Reclaimed Materials

Many Samved Living products begin with existing textiles that are re-cut, re-stitched, and reimagined so valuable materials stay in use for longer. Because of this process, no two pieces are exactly alike. Gentle irregularities are part of the story and beauty of the product.
